Comment Beggar

beggar
The other night after I posted the picture of my chunky pilgrim, I noticed that I kept checking my email to see if anybody would comment. My wife kept asking why I was always on the computer, and I realized that I am a "comment beggar." So, today on my day off (took if off for my birthday) I did a sketch of what I have realized about myself. Enjoy.

Happy Birthday, Witness!

You know, I see a big improvement in your drawing, lately. I think the two portraits (this one and the chunky pilgrim) are fabulous! I like your style: ink and watercolour, or do you use coloured pencil? Can we see more?

Happy Birthday! Great drawing!
One thing about comments: If you like to get them, you have to give them :)

Happy Birthday! Hope it was a great day off. I love your comment beggar and hope that you get LOTS and LOTS of them

I laughed at (and related to) your post. One of the interesting things about this blogging stuff, by the way, is that I find sketches of people draw fewer comments than sketches of other stuff. Have you noticed that? In some cases, I think, it's because the sketched person is unknown to random bloggers, who might reserve opinions because they don't know whether the artist "got It" or not. But anyway, I liked your comment beggar, and your style is great.

this looks wonderful and struck a chord as i'm right there with you, one more comment beggar :D and unfortunately and internet addict. I've made a commitment to myself that I will spend at least a few hours each day and doing some art related activity - reading, drawing, painting. I've been pretty successful this last week since I started. another thing about this comment beggar is that she finds it difficult to leave comments!!! and the cheek to keep looking out for them on her blog, right??

Happy Birthday! In true Scorpio style, you speak the truth! The number of comment beggars out there beggars belief - and I'm one of them!

I think you're right; we do indeed need a comment fix every now and again, however, I'd never be brave enough to admit to it!!

..I forgot to comment on your picture! I love the texture you create with you hatching; on the coat and, especially, the jeans which I love.

I think we can all relate to this guy - and you've drawn him beautifully. Your work is always fun to look at, and I'll try to leave a comment every time!

LOL! You're a funny, funny guy! This is really great -- and Happy Birthday! Are you eating low-fat-low-calorie-sugar-free-organic-yet-vitamin-and-mineral-enriched cake today, or are you going for the real thing? ;-D

Happy Birthday! I love this drawing! We all are comment beggars. I will have to remember this drawing as I check in to see if anyone has looked at my "stuff".

not sure how I ended up at your blog this morning, but that seems to be how it works. I think you have a very unique style and this drawing is an indication of how much you put of yourself into your work. I will make note of this and be back to see more.

I think we are all a bit guilty of that. Happy birthday! What a great way to spend the day!

oh thank goodness. i thought i was the only one. i get so disappointed when i put something up and no one seems to notice. silly, isn't it. after all, it is the world wide web. some of those people out there probably have stuff to do. oh well, back to check mine again.

I'll quit commenting on your journal today, but just wanted to say that this is another one that made me chuckle out loud. now...no more comments from me today, aren't you glad? :)

I would like to use this image for my own sites. May I do so if I save it locally so it's not eating up your bandwidth and I credit you? How would you like me to credit you for the image?
