On another note, I noticed that my sketchpot blog is getting much more traffic than my writing blog. I think it is safe to say that my sketch pen is mightier than my word.

It was a crazy day at work. We had a huge tour from a potential customer, and to top it off, my boss put in his two week's notice because he can't stand to work for our regional manager any more. Looks like there will be some interesting changes in the near future. Once again, because of the busy-ness of what was going on, I only had a few minutes to doodle while eating lunch. It's not much today, but at least, I sketched...it is my key to maintaining any semblance of sanity.

There was no meeting today because everyone was trying to get out of the office early for Friday. I had the opportunity to oversee operations until the work was finished. During lunch, ther was a spray bottle in front of me. I drew it, ate my sandwich, drew a bit more, enjoyed my Dasani Lemon water, drew a bit more, and then grew weary of the background. Hence the unfinished black box. But I liked the way it came out.
After work I found a sweet site with a suggested exercise with boxes. I got really excited, pulled out my paints, sat the kids down at the table so they could do their thing while I did mine. Here is my entry:

Today marked another continued, deep, distant, drawn out, elongated, enduring, enlarged, expanded, extensive, far-reaching, faraway, gangling, king-size, lanky, lasting, lengthy, lingering, outstretched, prolonged, protracted, rangy, running, spun out, stretched, stretching, stringy and sustained conference call. Needless to say, the scenery wasn't too thought provoking. I drew what was in front of me.

Speaking of church, I have a little program on my Dell Axim called Pocket Artist which is pretty cool. During the sermons last Sunday, here is what I popped out:

Every day at work when 9:30 a.m. rolls around, I find myself in a daily production meeting where we go over the same information, and are expected to act interested in what is being presented. In my attempt to play the part, I have my notebook, a set of eyes that shift from the speaker to my notepad intermittently, and my pen is moving after orchestrated pauses. However, the pad is filled with doodles instead of notes. I can't really help it. I find that I listen better when my hands are moving. But I can't believe I am the only one who does it.
I am accumulating, however, daily doodles, on lined paper that are reminders of the meetings, and I'm growing fond of the scraps and doodles.
I thought I would start a blog showing what is going through my mind, when something else probably ought to be.
If you are interested in sending me your doodles (they have to be done while in a buisiness meeting), please send them to me via email (preferably in jpeg format), with "MY DOODLE" in the subject header and the best ones will get posted. On each doodle sent, however, I need the following information: Time of day, type of meeting drawn in, the state, and name of company. I figure that such information would be interesting. (if you worry about naming the company...exclude that information).
