Can......I can

Over the weekend, I got the Easter bug and had a few hours to kill.  I decided to go back to the trusty tin can as a canvas and knocked out this Christ.  It's a nice addition to the tin can gallery that I've been assembling over the past little while.

A little more action on the can.

A couple of months ago I painted a face on a can but got bored with it.  Last night after the mandatory games, stuffing of face with finger foods, and the post feeding sugar buzz, I chose to put some clothes on that little lady and turn her into a gypsy.

Can-tastic!

Wow, it has been a while since I posted last.  Christmas time has come around, and a few days ago I started itching to do some more Nativity work on cans.  So, I flattened a few, attached them, and worked on them in my free time over the past couple of days.  It was fun to do this combination, and I enjoyed the idea of turning something that is discarded into something with meaning.  There is probably a gospel principle in there somewhere...the fact that there is a force, a power out there which overlooks our used, broken state, and sees what we can become.  If we let it, we can be transformed into something unexpected, valuable...insofar as we reflect the individual who paints the transformation...
